Who is Saga?

Ben founded Saga in 2024. He is a highly experienced communication specialist and Navy veteran based in Canberra, Australia. He excels in strategic communication (including internal, external, and executive comms) public relations, social media, speechwriting, media management, public affairs, and strategy.

Why ‘Saga’?

The sagas were epic prose tales of heroic deeds composed by ancient Norse poets that stemmed from a rich oral tradition. In a literal sense the word saga meant a structured narrative or story. As narrative specialists the name Saga Strategic Communication seemed apt.

The Saga team has significant experience, knowledge, and expertise when it comes to working with the Commonwealth of Australia and the Departments of Defence specifically. Saga’s principal, Ben, is a seasoned speechwriter with years of experience under his belt. Technical writing is the art of communicating complex information in a clear, concise, and accurate way, specifically geared towards a specific audience and their needs. The Saga team has a great track record of delivering copywriting, editorial and proofreading work to clients. The team has embedded with clients as part of their teams and delivered full suite communication services in a number of government agencies and is comfortable working in an above the line or below the line capacity.

Our Founder

I am a Navy veteran and have been working with government and the private sector in various capacities to deliver strong communication outcomes for more than 15 years. I have postgraduate qualifications in Strategic Communication, Digital and Social Media, and Business with a focus on Public Sector Management.

I have extensive experience in government and industry including 12 years at the Department of Home Affairs and senior-level industry experience in the defence sector since 2018.

I excel in corporate and strategic communication, public relations, speechwriting, media management, public affairs, and corporate leadership.

My comprehensive skill set encompasses internal, external, government, and executive communication, marketing, social media, speechwriting, copywriting, project documentation, technical writing and content generation.
